"...pray continually..."

With this new transition OUT of school (praise the LORD for bringing me through to graduation!), SO many things have been happening.  To name a few, I've been job hunting, preparing for the internship with Intervarsity Christian Fellowship (for this I am genuinely excited!!), cleaning & organizing (things are still a lil messy from finals), and trying to stay committed with family and church.  For the most part, these things have kept me occupied and busy since graduation about a month ago.

As of right now, I have a part-time position lined up with Think Together, an after-school tutoring program, and am in the process of going through the training and orientation for the position.  Also, I will be heading to the Pacific Northwest region of the USA for training with Intervarsity in just a couple days.  All this is so exhilarating and exciting, that I have almost forgot to reserve time for me to rest with God.  I have tried to read some books from Urbana '12 that had been put aside because of school, and they have really refreshed me in this season.

Just last night, I was laying in bed, realizing that I had to get up in about 3 hours for work, when I started worshiping and declaring how Jesus is just so awesome.  I was really enjoying this time of proclaiming truth, while at the same time expelling lies of Satan, when all of a sudden I felt an evil and ugly presence in the room.  It was scary.  It brought back all the fear and uncertainty of another incidence two summers ago when I got it in with some spiritual warfare.

I immediately started praying and rebuking the spirit, using the power of Jesus' name.  The first couple times, nothing changed except for my more desperate attempts at expelling this demon.  After about the third or fourth time, the spirit left.  As I lay in bed, still a little in shock from what happened, I remembered the parable of the strong man in Mark 3:20-30.  I remembered how we are all living in Satan's house as long as we are on this earth.  I remembered how Jesus is breaking & entering with the intention of stealing us (His prize).  I remembered how Jesus' power and authority is displayed by binding Satan while plundering his house, and by making thousands of demons beg for mercy in the presence of the Christ (Mark 5:1-20).

Then, I got to thinking about how there are so many places, and so many people in the world that don't know about Jesus, His power, authority, and tender love.  I got to thinking about the brothers and sisters I know who are spread around the globe, and couldn't help but pray for them and along with them.

It's kinda sad that it took an experience like this to remind me of the importance of prayer, but it definitely was a good eye-opener!  With this said, if there is ANY way at all you would like prayer, please feel free to Facebook me, email me, call, or text me!  I would love to be able to partner with you in whatever you may be facing!
