A New School Year!

The start of each school year always brings something new.  I think back to all the first days of a new class and new year, and remember all the excitement and motivation that fills the air.  As the 2014-2015 school year began a couple weeks ago, I was not disappointed in the amount of excitement that simply consumed me as this new year began.

For one, I had just come back from 7 weeks of committed communal living in the inner city of LA, choosing intentionally to become more aware and active in issues of justice (homelessness, modern-day racism, and education discrepancies to name a few).

Then there is all the extra free time I have while I am searching for a part-time job!  With this extra time, I have had the joyous opportunity to meet new international students at ELAC, PCC, and CSULA and invite them to the awesome community of ICF.  Meeting all the new students has been so exhilarating and energizing--such a mix of curiosity and openness =D

In addition to all this, I have started teaching and developing more leaders with more teachings and training.  It definitely feels good to put into words and seminars all the experience and skills I often take for granted, and it's so cool to impart so many of these skills to others too!

Not to mention I have also been enjoying some reading!  Oh, and I've been Sabbath-ing weekly for REAL now!

Praise God for all these new developments happening!  Woohoo for the #newschoolyear #newseasons
